Mrs. Nelson saying good bye to the children.
Saying good bye to the children and the "Angels" of the orphanage.
The older girl on the bed is I believe 35 YO.
This young lady had such a radient smile that it spoke a million words... Sister Tuoi said that she is always such a delight...The older girl is about 35 years old and is less able to move or function; however, understands when talked to in Vietnamese. Must have gotten some dirt in my eyes here...
These children may suffer from mental and physical problems; however, they were under the watchful and attentative eyes of one of the loving Sisters at all times...
Several of the children had brothers and sisters in the room that also suffer from mental and physical problems. Two of the boys came from a family that gave birth to 3 children that were born with mental and physical birth defects.
These two survived their elder brother who was also born with mental and physical birth defects...
Sister Tuoi said this little fellow plays with a straw all day long, as long as he is awake...
Being a big man, I am always aware that it can be intimidating to adults and children; however, this blessed child took to me like I had been a friend forever... From the mouths and hearts of babes, I was honored...
My heart was torn, I hated to drop in and go so quickly...
Mrs. Nelson saying hello to some of the children.
6'7" 300 lbs old roughneck mobbed by beautiful kids...
To the far left is Sister Tuoi, and in front of her is the Sister in charge of the nuns. True angels on earth...
The way these kids mobbed me and gave me love, you would have thought that big Americans came through the orphanage all the time...
Lady to the left is the Sister in charge of the nuns.
I love all 6 children God has blessed me with; however, the love these kids gave me that day was the sweetest of things...
My wife's cousin was obviously moved by his visit with us to the children... He lives in the same province.
Little guy right in front of me was found in the garbage as a baby, ant bites over his body with serious birth defects. Against all odds he has survived 4 major surgerys... All of these kids were gracious and a blessing to be around...
I wanted to bear hug them all and never let them go...
She is blind and her little body is so frail; however, she can hear and understands...
What a wonderful concert, and we were the guests of honor... I will post the movie of this alter on the website...
Sister Tuoi said this 14 MO little boy's head will continue to grow putting immense pressure on his brain until he dies. She said that they have had several children at the orphanage who have suffered from the same birth defects. He could still understand and was a little scared of the gruff sounding foreigner...
This little girl was 5 years old... I was amazed how small she was, I believe she was about 5 pounds...
I will do my best to help these kids...
If I could take away your pain child...
So many children with birth defects...
The orphanage's oldest orphan 60+ years old. She now helps with the children and still lives at the orphange. She suffers from physical ailments.
Although the sisters looked so tired, those warm smiles were real! The children were all well mannered; however, they were obviously well loved and full of spirit! Thank you all for taking the time to spend with us and introduce your beautiful wards...
The whole area was very clean; however, many of the buildings are very old and the conditions were spartan at best...
